Andrew Brady

Andrew Brady fell in love with statistics when he discovered baseball cards. The numbers always told a story, spilling the secrets of a player’s entire career on a small paper card. It was like a second language instilled deep in his brain. He didn’t have to think about it, he just knew. As he grew older his fascination grew stronger, so much so that he graduated from FSU with a degree in Statistics. Now, instead of baseball cards Andrew is able to show the world what FSU’s accomplishments are, in numbers.

As a Data Analyst in Institutional Research for 13 years, Andrew is responsible for all aspects of research, coordination and development of the FSU Fact Book, Pocket Fact Book and Fact Brochure. These publications contain information on FSU’s history, services, programs and numerous statistics that are helpful to students, faculty, and staff. Other duties include responding to surveys for federal and state reporting and other magazines and publications, ad hoc and data requests from individuals and businesses, and assisting with maintaining the department’s website.

Employed part time as an Athletic Assistant for FSU, Mr. Brady also tracks statistics and plays for FSU sporting events, has developed an Automated Football and Basketball Statistics Program, and for 13 years has maintained statistics for all FSU home football games to include four ACC championships. For six years he has tracked statistics for the men’s and women’s basketball games. His achievements have been published in articles throughout the University and he was one of the 2008 recipients of the Ambassador Award, which recognizes an employee who consistently exhibits a positive image or through sustained voluntary service promotes the welfare of others in the department or University.

When he is not working, Andrew plays in a dart league and is a statistician for the Florida Dart Association. He is married and also heavily involved with coaching his son’s and daughter’s tee ball, soccer, flag football and softball teams.
