When you use your FSU Card to enter a building or pay for an item, do you ever wonder what makes it work? The answer to that question and more is Matt Sugrue. As a Computer Application Specialist for the Card Center, Matt maintains the Smart Card system utilized here at FSU, manages the Database and LAN systems, is the Security Officer for Business Services, interacts with parents and students during FSU orientations and makes every attempt to ensure that all information within their computer system remains secure.

Matt is always behind the scenes ensuring that not only do the correct systems speak to each other, but that the information contained within each system remains confidential and secure. His proactive actions and problem-solver abilities make him the go-to guy for any computer issue within Business Services.

The next time you whip out your FSU Card for any reason, remember that Matt Sugrue is on the job, ensuring that your information is correct, obtainable and safe.

When not problem solving for FSU, Matt is an organic gardener, growing many of the fruits and vegetables he and his family enjoy. He is also an avid “treasure hunter” finding unusual treasures as he searches with his metal detector.
