Roberta McManus

Roberta McManus is a person who is dedicated to her profession, volunteer work and three sons. She volunteers in Wakulla County as a child advocate for the court system and currently represents four children where the state has intervened and taken custody of those children. She visits the children’s homes once a month, goes to court hearings and persistently works on reuniting the child with the parent. Admittedly, the volunteer work can sometimes be emotionally and mentally difficult, but it is worth it in the end. Ms. McManus also adores sports, coached her son’s soccer team for ten years, attends the U.S. Open yearly with her father, and loves to play softball, tennis, ride her bike and walk her dogs.

Ms. McManus is a Certified Public Accountant who passed the test on her first attempt, has worked for FSU for five years and works in Sponsored Research Accounting Services as an Assistant Director. Some of her responsibilities include accounting, coordination, and processing all sponsored research projects, trust funds, contracts and grants; reviewing all expenditures against federal, state, and local regulations; and supervising 18 compliance employees.

Some quotes that describe Roberta McManus include, “great leader” and “outstanding performance and business manager”. She takes pride in always trying to do the right thing and strives to be more efficient in everything she does. Ms. McManus believes that people should do their part by giving back to the community.
