John Carnaghi has served as the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration at Florida State University since February, 1991. He directs over 1,100 employees and overseees an annual operating budget of more than $100 million for all budget entities in Finance and Administration. His areas of responsibility include:
Prior to coming to The Florida State Univeristy, John held the position of Vice Chancellor for Financial Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne from 1980 to 1990. Immediately prior to that, he worked at Purdue University in a variety of business officer positions, including that of Budget Director.
John has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Southern Illinois University, and a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Purdue University. He received the Wall Street Journal Award for academic excellence in Marketing, Southern Illinois University; was elected to Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Purdue University; and in 1980, was named an Outstanding Young Man in America.
